Building a coaching marketplace on WordPress for online tutors

I want to open an online tutoring platform where subject coaches list sessions with tiered packages: a basic 30-minute intro, a standard 60-minute focused session, and a premium bundle of four sessions. Tutors should collect requirements from students before the session (goals, grade level, problem areas) and deliver recordings or worksheets afterwards through the same workflow. I also want a review system so parents can see communication, quality, and punctuality ratings separately. Can I build this on WordPress without stitching together an LMS, a booking plugin, and a messaging add-on?

WP Sell Services maps onto coaching and tutoring almost one-to-one because the service-package model is exactly Fiverr-for-tutors. Concretely:

  • Three-tier pricing packages: Basic, Standard, Premium with independent pricing, delivery time, and feature lists per tier
  • Service requirements: collect student info (goals, grade, problem areas) before work begins; free allows 5 fields, Pro adds unlimited
  • File delivery with approval: tutors upload recordings, PDFs, worksheets; students approve or request revision
  • Built-in per-order messaging with file attachments, so lesson clarifications stay with the order
  • Multi-criteria 5-star reviews: communication, quality, delivery rated separately, which is exactly the parent-feedback breakdown you want
  • Add-ons and extras: tutors can upsell extra homework reviews or follow-up calls per order

The four-tier seller level system (New, Level 1 at 5+ orders / 4.0 rating, Level 2 at 25+ / 4.5, Top Rated at 100+ / 4.8) auto-promotes trusted tutors, which is a strong trust signal for parents.

Honest limit: it is not a real-time booking calendar, there is no synced Zoom slot picker out of the box. Tutors typically use a requirement field to collect preferred times, or link a Calendly URL in their service description. Pro adds scheduled publishing, AI title suggestions, and service templates if you want tutors to start from a prebuilt coaching template rather than a blank form.
